Photos and Images

Introduction

In this part of my website you find various images, starting from photos of myself (portraits, ...) and some "diashows". All images are photographed and prepared by myself. All images are copyright protected!

If you want to use any of the photos please contact me!.

For Mac User: Please use Safari Browser, due to color calibration issues with Firefox... to get the best impressions of the pictures!

Recently I also started uploading some (travel) videos on YouTube, you can check out my channel there as well.

If you should be interested how I am looking like, you might want to see the following pictures ;-)

Shows

  • [Death in Vienna] Death has a special meaning in the (popular) tradition of Vienna. This photo section will provide views of typical Viennese culture.
  • [Seasons] Over the time a serious of seasonal impressions of Austrian nature will follow here.

Traveling

At my journeys, private as well as during my conference travels from university I had the opportunity to prepare some hopefully interesting diashows.

  • [Barcelona] In March 2007 I spent some days in Barcelona. I am (as always) mostly impressed by the vivid markets. Find some impressions here.
  • [Indonesia] In the last years I was many times in Indonesia visiting some impressive spots like Bali, Yogyakarta, Borobudur, Prambanan, Bandung, Sumatra-Lake Toba, Balikpapan and also Jakarta.
  • [San Francisco] In June/July I spent about 10 days in San Francisco attending a conference and meeting friends. I also made a trip to the North up to Mendocino, driving back the scenic Highway 1 along the coast having some great scenic experiences.
  • [Dubai] In May/June 2006 I spent some holiday days with my wife in Dubai. Maybe not our most preferred destination, still some scenic spots to visit. Also some pictures from the desert trip can be found.
  • [Iran] Starting with University cooperations I visited Iran multiple times; the first time in 2000 (Tehran) over Shiraz and Persepolis (2002); Until 2006 (besides having been in Tehran multiple) I also visited the North (Caspian Sea), Shiraz again and the wonderful Esfahan.
  • [Canada] The photos of this show have been shot in Canada. I spent there two weeks after a conference in Montreal.
  • [Sailing in Croatia]: In 2001 I organised a sailing trip for two weeks in Croatia; Starting and ending in Split. Some impressions can be found here (Dubrovnik, Hvar, Trogir, Primosten)
  • [Hongkong] Attending the Very Large Database Conference in Hongkong, I had the opportunity to catch some impressions from Hongkong.
  • [Turkey] The Euromicro conference in Belek near Antalya gave my the opportunity to visit turkey again as a tourist after more then ten years; Well, I guess it will take at least another ten years until I will come back again, but some nice impressions stay, though.
  • [Bike Tour Austria]: Some photos from the first tour with my new TDM 900. Unfortunately the weather was not too good, but it was a great experience anyway: From Mariazell, Palfau over Grünau to Attersee, Postalm, Hochkönig, Großglockner...

360° Panoramas

The digital camera offered the possibility to create 360° panoramas. To watch the following panos, you need a Java-enabled browser. This is work in progress, visit often.
